Virginia adopted the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunities for Military Families in 2009. The purpose of the Compact is to add consistency for military families who move frequently to different school divisions that have unique qualifications for enrollment or graduation. The Compact allows for children of the Military to have flexibility in their education and to ensure they are not at a disadvantage due to moving or switching schools.
